Hacienda Maria is a hidden highland escape. Tucked inland, away from the coastline, this area offers a completely different experience, quiet trails, caves, waterfalls, and raw nature. It’s not commercial, not crowded, and not polished. That’s exactly the point.
Hacienda Maria is located in the highland area of Buruanga, Aklan, Philippines. It sits inland, away from the coastal barangays, and is surrounded by hills, forest, and natural formations.
It is not along the main tourist route, which is exactly why it still feels quiet, hidden, and less crowded than the usual coastal stops.

How to Get There
The access is straightforward, but the final part involves a trek.
By Motorcycle / Habal-habal (Most Practical)
This is the easiest and most common way to reach Hacienda Maria. Ride from Buruanga proper toward the highland area and hire a habal-habal if needed.
~PHP 100–150 per person (one way)
The road is partly paved and partly rough, with some uphill sections.
By Private Vehicle
The site is accessible by private car or motorbike, but some sections are narrow and uneven. It is best for drivers already comfortable with provincial roads.
Final Access Requires a Trek
You will not reach everything by vehicle. There is a short trek required to reach the caves and waterfalls. It is not extreme, but expect uneven paths, light climbing, and muddy areas on rainy days.
